Music update: I recently won tickets to the Libertines. A nice evening of British rock, but the set seemed a bit perfunctory. But hey, I'm so used to seeing American bands it was nice to hear Joe Strummer and Paul Weller channeled through their lead singer. Two nights later we saw Chris Lee, a gorgeous singer/songwriter who reminds everyone a bit of Jeff Buckley, except without the annoying light heavy metal moments. I'm not sure why he's not more popular; maybe because listeners don't know what to make of soulful, 70's AM radio indie rock/soul. Also on the bill, Michael Zapruder, local singer song-writer with a few good songs, a terrific voice and a sweet demeanor.
Congratulations to me: Finished a draft of my novel but I have a long way to go.
